Strapping is usually the last procedure of a packing line, it is a reinforcement to keep the integration of the products during mass transportation to protect the products and save troubles from unexpected accidents.
There are 2 types of strapping in general, steel strapping and PET strapping (often called polyester strapping or plastic strapping).
The steel strapping is more likely to be used for the heavy industries like metal & metallurgy, such as pipes, pipeline, sheets, rods, bars, roofing plates, coils, no matter hot roll or cold roll, because the automatic steel banding machine can work in an ultra-high temperature working environment. It’s also often used to bind batteries for battery-powered cars, or some heavy products like stone, lumber, construction materials, etc.

The PET strapping is mostly used for the light industry, like logistics, agriculture, chemistry, beverage industry, textile industry, timber, etc. The products we usually see in daily life are: bags of grain, pallets, bags of fertilizer, beer bottles, bags, wood sticks or sheets, etc.

A simple automatic strapping machine is formed by a strapping dispenser, strapping arch, and strapping head. Some might come with multiple strapping heads due to the requirements of the strapping station and nature of the load. The automatic strapping machine will get the right amount of strapping from the dispenser and then bind the object in different direction, all operations will be done automatically.
